When it comes to Touring Cars I’m very much old school, I remember very well the days of John Leslie in his Vauxhall racing Andy Rouse in his Ford Sierra Cosworth. Happy days.

Strange then that after following it for so long that I lost interest for many years. I guess with the lack of coverage on TV I just forgot about it. That was until a couple of months ago though because with the advent of more channels than you can throw a stick at the British Touring Cars are back on TV in glorious style. Each Sunday of a BTTC round weekend ITV4 dedicate their whole afternoon slot (from 11am till 6 pm) to the British Touring Cars and not only is it by far and away the best thing on ITV4 it’s possibly the best motorsport available in the UK. Besides 3 touring car races, usually at mid day, 3 o’clock and 5 o’clock you get a whole host of support races ranging from Porsche 911′s to the Genetta Juniors – a class featuring the under 16′s.

One thing is for sure though and that is if you like your racing close you could do much worse than settling down in front of the TV on a Sunday afternoon and tuning in to ITV4. Oh and before you ask, yes crashes are almost guaranteed!
