Without confidence you will not be a very good putter. Your pre-putt routine should consist of reading the green, a few practice strokes, controlling your breathing, and picturing the putt. Picturing the putt is very important. The mental picture is what will give you a huge advantage. You should picture the putt in as much detail as possible. If you do this, you are already 80% of the way to actually achieving that putt! If it is the only thing you do, you must picture the putt!
