Liverpool vs Manchester UnitedBookmark and Share

Bill BummeryFootball

Why oh why oh why do they have to put this game on so early?  Most of the players are going to have been away on international duty and will be tired, but more importantly how the hell am I supposed to be out drinking till the early hours tonight and still go to the pub tomorrow lunchtime to watch it?  My liver is hurting just thinking about it.  At least an evening kick-off would give me some chance of recovery!

Torres and Stevie “errrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” Gerrard should both play some part for the scousers although I reckon most people will be watching and expecting from that man Berbabtov.  After possibly the most drawn out transfer since Joan Of Arc decided to switch sides it would be rude not to.  With all the attacking flair we should be expecting lots of goals in this one, but as we all know by now top of the table Premier League games don’t tend to go like that.  Bore draw anybody?  Both teams cancelling each other out and no matter how much Sky Sports hype it everybody leaves feeling deflated.   I really hope not but I’d put my money on either a nil nil or United to win by the odd goal.  Who knows, maybe they’ll be outplayed for 89 minutes until somebody with the attacking flair of John O’Shea comes of the bench and nets the winner!  Surely that’s just a little too far fetched to actually happen?

Anyway, the real battle of the day is going to be up at Newcastle as they take on Hull.  Forget what’s happening on the pitch, it’s the fans that’ll be the ones to watch.  It could be torches and pitch forks at the ready for the chairman and that little shite Wise.  He’s always looked a shifty little sod.  I like the Geordie fans, they call a spade a spade.  Can’t wait to see what names they come up with for those 2.

Liverpool, Manchester United kicks of 12:45 tomorrow, coverage is on Sky Sports 1 and HD.  If you haven’t got Sky then the pub is always an option.  Just leave the wife to go shopping on her own.

If you’re stuck near a computer then there is always the option of watching it on the old “dodgy dodgy”.  More info on that to follow tomorrow.
