All the drama at the Melborne Storm isn't helping the author's arguement that league players play for the love of them game.

Rugby league is certainly better for fights though.

Agree 100% - you can't top 2 lads having a scrap whilst the game goes on around them. Rugby commentators are also much better than football commentators, much more inclined to call a spade a spade.

It may be bias, but it also has an element of truth to it. Before you start slagging the article off why dont YOU get your facts right.

Its football that the article is talking about. The original one. Not an American version of football but the original Association Football versus Rugby League Football.

Are you suggesting that there are 35 stone fellas in the NFL? because thats what a 500 pound man is. Obviously you are a PE trainer and definately not a maths teacher. I've just taken a look on 3 or 4 NFL teams websites and not one of them has a player over the weight of 370 pounds. Big lads obviously but nowhere near the 500 pound you suggest for the simple reason that theyd be bloody useless as theyd need winching into position by some kind of machinery.

The average weight of the Dallas Cowboys team is 16st 3 pounds.
The average weight of the Leeds Rhinos is 15st 1 pound.

Hardly a massive difference.

Whats your point about "millions of Americans" playing in amateur leagues for free? Of course they play for free! Theyre amateur! Its in the word itself! It means you dont get paid! Millions of people in virtually every country round the world do exactly the same, I play on a weekend, get my head kicked in by some chav from Normanton and then have to go to work the next day, so pull your head out of your backside and realise there is a world outside of the US of A.

This article is SO bias and unprofessional. Rugby and American Football are so different from each other and your trying to compare them. American footballers weigh almost 500 pounds and if they would collide without protection they would die. It has happened many times that even with protection they died. If Rugby players would go to the US and try and play football they would get bashed and smashed to the ground in no time. If football players would go to play a rugby match they would be bashed just as much. The only smillarity in this sport is the ball which is not the same either. Football players aditionally are not just money grabbing. Thats bias as well just because they make so much more money because there simply is much more in the US it does not mean they do it for that. Do you know how many millions of americans play in amateur leagues and don't even get a pay And refuse to step up the NFL. Get your facts straight. Little 200 pound men are very different to 500 pounders. This coming from a P.E. Trainer -.-
