Talking Ballacks!Bookmark and Share

Billy WhizzFootball

What a strange weekend for football results that was. I’ve been trying to remember when was the last time that the top 4 teams all failed to score over a weekend, anybody any idea?

It was a case of damage limitation for Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United as despite scoring they did manage to hold on to nil-nil draws. Status quo. Arsenal on the other hand (minus Gallas the snitch) got thumped by Man City, losing a little ground. Over previous years just losing so many games already would tell you that even at this early stage Arsenal are probably out of the reckoning. So that leaves a three horse race right?

Apparently not according to Chelsea’s Michael Ballack. In an interview in the Sun he’s said that he thinks it’s now done to the usual 2 teams, Chelsea and Manchester United. Even though United have looked far from convincing at times this season and that Liverpool are currently equal on points with Chelsea. It seems a whacky thing to say!

Personally I think he’s talking ballacks, none of the “big 4″ look unbeatable this year. Chelsea do look slightly stronger but having lost their unbeatable home record they do look very capable of dropping points. Manchester United and Liverpool look very evenly matched, they both look like they could fail to score against the lower teams and turn draws into victories. Overall I think the Premier League title will come down to a battle between 3 teams this year, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.
