Why Isn’t Ukraine vs England On TV?Bookmark and Share

UK Sports BlogFootball

Somebody somewhere needs a serious kick up the ass about this. It’s bad enough when they try to rape us over pay TV to watch the national team but to not show the game at all is even worse! Actually it does get worse than that because although the Ukraine vs England game isn’t available on your traditional TV it is being made available online. So if you have a PC and if you have a fast enough broadband speed then if you pay them £11.99 for this one single international game then you will have the honour of watching the English team play live.

If the internet company that bought the rights to this have to charge £11.99 to make it cost effective then quite frankly they just shouldn’t have bothered with the rights. Surely that would have caused whoever made them available to lower their asking price so that one of the traditional TV networks in the UK could have picked them up and shown the game live instead?

Anyhoo what is done is done now. I do have some good news for you though, it seems that the bookmaker Bet365 also has the rights to show the game online. So it might not be the same as watching it on your 47″ LCD in your sofa but at least if you do have to watch it online you can do it for free. All you have to do is open a Bet365 account and they’ll let you watch Ukraine v England for free.

Whilst I’m on about the world cup qualifiers (good luck to Ireland by the way) isn’t it great to see that both Portugal and Argentina might not qualify for the 2010 World Cup. Portugal for the diving cry baby that is Ronaldo and the cheating, fouling “who not me” asshole that is Carvalho, Argentina – well just for being Argentina really. If England can keep up their current form they’ll be going in as the highest scoring team from the European section and without Portugal and Argentina in the mix surely we must have a bloody good chance of seeing at least a semi final?
